P & H Salon and Spa is giving you the inside scoop on the season’s latest trends with a chance to look into Wella’s 2014 international Trendvision Awards competition at OMC Hairworld in Frankfurt, Germany.
P & H had their very own Fay Linksman compete in the prestigious event. She says participating in Trendvision was a life-changing experience.
“All I have to say is wow… Everything was larger than life. All of the major manufacturers were present and pulled out all of the stops for the show. The stage was huge. There was a suspended catwalk bridge and everything. Meeting all of the other competitors from all over the world was really amazing, too.”

Facials are an important part of maintaining a healthy looking complexion. We’ve all heard that before. But have you ever asked why? This treatment is a luxury that people often neglect because we don’t understand their purpose.
Jane Zhang, Spa Manager at P & H Salon and Spa says that skin needs to be pampered and protected at all times. “Our skin is the largest organ in our body. It protects us from the harmful invasion of foreign substances and also helps the body excrete waste.”
P & H Salon and Spa is delving deep into this important treatment with five facts about facials.
1.The first cleanse – Our face collects pollutants and toxins from the environment. The first cleanse exfoliates the skin and removes dead skin cells that accumulate over time.
2. Skin steam – Opens the pores and hydrates skin surface to give you added moisture.
3. Extractions – One of the more unpleasant parts of facial but worth it. It removes impurities from the skins surface and helps skin breath
4. Facial Massage – Not only does this feel good but it’s good for you. It stimulates the skins surface by increasing circulation of blood flow.
5. The Final Masque – The finishing touch. It brings oxygen and nutrients to feed the skins at the dermal level.
Once the facial is done there are tons of at home remedies you can do to maintain that healthy looking glow! Cleanse and moisturize daily. “Our skin renews every 28 days”, Zhang said. “So getting your facial done every four weeks is recommended.”
Spring time is here! So treat yourself to something you deserve. Rid your skin of dead and dry skin and freshen up that complexion.

Wella Professionals will be creating a full service hair salon at the P&G Family Home for The Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, situated in the Olympic Park. Building on the huge success of Wella’s activity at The London 2012 Olympic Games, the brand will be fielding twelve top colorists and stylists from around the world who will travel to Sochi to be part of an elite team providing hair services to beautify athletes and their families.
The dozen Wella stylists selected are a part of Wella and Proctor and Gamble’s inspirational ‘Thank you, Mom’ campaign. Building on the positive events at the London 2012 Olympic Games, the stylists will be extending their expert color services, styling and hair treatments to the athletes taking part in The Winter Games as well as their biggest supporters, their moms.
In the run up to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, some of these top stylists have created a hairstyle inspired by one of the sports represented in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. In the how-tos below learn how to re-create these Figure skating and Speedskating styles created by Canadian Wella Hairdresser Fay Linksman.
“Figure skating and speedskating – two of my favorite winter sports which have inspired my two styles,” says Fay Linsman. “For one, the structured elegance of a figure skater and for the other a fast, adrenalin-fueled speedskater.”

Gone are the days of clumpy mascaras, messy adhesives and unnatural store-bought lashes.

4 Essential Hair Styles for the Holidays
by: Erica Vella
The holidays are here, and with it comes a plethora of parties and must-attend functions.
Finding fresh new ways to sport your flow can often propose a challenge.
You have the perfect outfit, but what on EARTH are you going to do with that hair?
Fay Linksman, award winning artistic director at P & H Salon and Spa says it’s important to put your best foot forward when dressing your hair for the holidays.
Whether it’s a get together with family, friends or even that work thing you HAVE to attend, P & H Salon and Spa has three staple hairstyles that are sure to turn heads at your next holiday function.
1. The Old Fashion Blow Dry
Do not underestimate the power of a well-executed blow dry.
“A blow dry is the foundation for style,”Linksman said. “whether you leave it styled like that or you move on to pinning it up, a good blow dry can go a long way.”

Every now and then, P&H is graced with some of Toronto’s finest hockey players. Big name Leafs such as Phil Kessel and Tyler Bozak are just a few.
P&H proudly supports the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we thank players like these for coming into our shop.
